~ Patriotism ~
The Bartlesville Chapter, NSDAR, sets up an annual display at the local library during the month of September to highlight Constitution Week. In 1955, NSDAR petitioned Congress to set aside September 17-23, as a special time to commemorate the Constitution. The U.S. Congress adopted the resolution and President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed it into law on August 2, 1956.
To support our veterans, the Bartlesville Chapter, NSDAR, collects Christmas gifts for Claremore Veterans Center, a functioning memorial to Oklahoma’s wartime veterans, both male and female. Located in Claremore, Oklahoma, the center provides 24-hour medical and nursing care. Both male and female veterans are housed at the facility. The Bartlesville Chapter NSDAR collects Christmas gifts and delivers them to the facility. Items such as pajamas, sweat suits, underwear, clothing, toiletries, snacks, books, and games are disbursed. Of course, gifts and monetary contributions can be made by our members at any time of the year.
Chapter members are encouraged to support the Oklahoma Society DAR (OSDAR) State Regent's project. The purpose of the Project is to reach out in service and education for the benefit of the women of Oklahoma.
Wreaths Across America
OK0082 ~ Bartlesville Chapter NSDAR
As we remember the Fallen, honor those that serve, and teach the next generation about freedom, our Chapter collects donations to purchase and lay Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes every December.
~ Education ~
Every year Bartlesville DAR members, along with some SAR members, present programs about the Constitution to the fifth-grade students in nine Bartlesville schools and two home school groups. Every fifth-grade student is then given their own copy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights compliments of Bartlesville Chapter NSDAR.

~ Historic Preservation ~
Our DAR Chapter works with NSDAR to preserve our cultural heritage. We have helped preserve and restore monuments, memorials, historical buildings, American artifacts, genealogical records, and historical documents. In the 1980s, our pennies, nickels, and dimes were combined with others from all over the United States. As a result, over $500,000 was donated toward the renovation of the Statue of Liberty. All of us working together can achieve a lot!
~ Citizenship ~
The Bartlesville Chapter, NSDAR, supports the DAR Good Citizens Committee by giving out awards for the best submitted thesis from our local students on the importance of the qualities of good citizenship.
"In 2004, the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services used the DAR Manual for Citizenship as a guide when creating their new study materials for citizenship. The manual continues to be useful for those studying to become citizens as well as for students learning about U.S. citizenship and immigration. This manual can be used as a tool in the classroom to demonstrate the many facts new citizens are required to know before they can complete their naturalization process." Retrieved from August 19, 2018, from https://www.dar.org/national-society/education/dar-manual-citizenship
Copies of the DAR Manual for Citizenship are available online to those studying to become American citizens.

Assisting women in transition at the Lighthouse Outreach Center, we collect and sell women's clothing and accessories. We also help with management while at the register, sorting donations, and placing the new items on the sales floor.
